The GTIN Manager is a section on our GS1 service platform.

You can retrieve and/or create your GTINs there depending on the scope of the service package selected when purchasing your EAN/GTIN licences. You can also create barcodes and publish your data on Verified by GS1.

Your greatest benefit from working with the GTIN Manager is that you can use the tool to assign a unique EAN/GTIN to your products, store a small set of product master data and make this information accessible to business partners, retailers and online retailers with just one click. The information can be accessed via the “Verified by GS1” service the instant you set the products to “active” in the GTIN Manager.

Why is that important? Many large retailers and online marketplaces use our GS1 services (in this case Verified by GS1) to check the authenticity of the data products and licences. Publishing your data via our services thus brings a lot of benefits for you: Seize the opportunity, build trust and safeguard your business!

Once a product has been set to “Active,” it can no longer be deleted, as GTINs may not be used multiple times for different products.

Trade and industry have agreed on global standards in this context in the interest of efficient and secure global trade – the GTIN Non-Reuse rules apply, which you can find under www.gs1-germany.de/gtin-non-reuse/.

The GLN Manager is part of our GS1 service platform. It allows you to manage your company sites and locations quickly and in a structured manner.

In the GLN Manager, you can easily generate sub-GLNs for additional locations, such as production locations or warehouses belonging to your main company or wholly-owned subsidiaries based on your GLN and manage them digitally. Manual creation and complicated management methods are thus a thing of the past. Furthermore, you can transfer your company data to the global GS1 database Verified by GS1 at the push of a button. This allows you to easily confirm the authenticity of your data to your trading partners.

ACTIVE: The sub-GLN is available to business partners.

LOCKED: The sub-GLN is no longer used. It remains in GLN Manager, however, so that you have an overview of the sub-GLNs you have used.

DRAFT: The sub-GLN is still in the draft phase. Its creation serves to provide an overview and as a reservation for a valid sub-GLN.

To use a GLN or sub-GLN for IFS certification, these must be published and active in our global service Verified by GS1. The corresponding entry and activation are easy to do in the GLN Manager section of our service platform.

The company name and address also must also match the information on the certificate exactly. This is the only way the IFS and your business partners can verify the authenticity of your GLN and your certificate.

Do you already have a GLN and want to use it for certification? Check now whether your GLN is active in Verified by GS1
