This segment is used to identify the item being ordered. If Global Trade Item Numbers are available it is mandatory to use GTIN within the LIN segment. The detail section of the Purchase Order is formed by a repeating group of segments, always starting with the LIN segment. In the orders message, if the sub-line is used, it will can contain the PIA, MEA and IMD segment. The price, allowance, amount will not be described under the sub-line. FOR A COMPLETE DESCRIPTION ON THE USAGE OF SUB-LINES PLEASE REFER TO PART I, SECTION 4.10.
